The work in the advanced retreat is an invitation to work with the obstruction of the life force creating pain and suffering. To understand that this painful obstruction is the convertible energy that can be liberated and return to the free-flowing life force, which provides the fuel for our personal, human and spiritual evolution. It can assist us when we may be faced with significant obstacles giving us the invitation to surrender our identification to our familiar repetitive patterns.
In a retreat setting time will be provided for each person to get into a deeper experience of recognizing how parts of us keep splitting off into two opposing aspects of our being until we the point of crystallization moving us into a state of self-forgetting by the time our human brain development completes at 24 years old.
We can then experience some kind of shock for awakening, or activation of the spiritual instinct, or by receiving a deeper call inside us, guiding us to come home to what we are created to be.
Somatic Retreats are about commitment to developing your Inner Observer faculty of mind, how and where to place this attention inside of yourself with “skillful means”. With this unwavering commitment one can be guided to mastery, which is quite different from asserting control and following adaptive management strategies. They provide a safe space with a simple method, with added support, so you can experience and learn how to build capacity to stay present with what you don't want to feel. Using the Enneagram mat we will discover the invitation of the shock points.
By exploring what is necessary to turn our direction from counterclockwise movement to clockwise at the top of the Enneagram Symbol Point 9 we will discover what the nature of these obstacles are and what support and insight is necessary to make that turn consciously.
You will understand how your type is necessary to a part of you and how the essence of type can light the way and choose your human journey, for personal development and towards embodying your essential nature.
When everything belongs equally in the field of awareness, we experience the arising of a state of integration; the convertible energy transforms into a source of vitality, clarity, peace, and loving kindness, which will transform our state from following the automatic patterns into reconciliation of the affirming and the denying force opening to a receptive state of wholeness, freedom, and alignment with the essence of our being.
Day 1_11th February 2026
Introduction and welcome, opening circle around the mat
Asking to enter the collective, coherent field of awareness with the support from all who have gone before us. Asking for blessings for our personal and collective work on the land, where we are invited to do our inner work and turn to our pain and suffering and learn to include it.
Inner Practice: Going inside to explore our inner landscape
Deepening the Counter-clockwise journey:
In Module 5 we walked the mat counterclockwise in order to understand how we became solidified into a state of self-forgetting. Now we are actually feeling and sensing at each point how a part of us splits into two opposing aspects of our being. We sacrificed having access to the third force.
Individual reflection and sharing on the counter-clockwise journey –
“What have you now understood somatically about how your type got formed?”
“What kind of overwhelming sensations are you carrying related to the type you have?”
It is necessary to fall asleep first before you can be awakened, so you can consciously choose to remember yourself. When you are on a personal inner journey you need to complete the descent so you can liberate yourself from the identification with your type.
Day 2_12th February 2026
Inner Practice: Deepening our sustained conscious attention turned inwards
Beginning the Clockwise journey:
The turn from counter-clockwise to clockwise is a radical 180 degree turn with a sense of a new awakening, so that you don’t have to stay in the triangle of the defense system, which is where the original split began.
Whatever your type, you will work with the avoidance of conflict and the pain of separation at point 9, the defense-mechanism of narcotisation, the idealization of” I have to be peaceful”.
You will be invited to find a way to reconcile the avoidance with the resource that is already available to you, instead of going on automatic and getting caught in the automatic adaptive strategies.
As support we will use the Enneagram of Harmony, the Solfeggio Frequencies, and activating essence qualities through precise placement of attention internally on the 3 subtle Centers of Intelligence. You will do individual work on the mat, instead of doing panels.
Inner Somatic Work on the mat clockwise Point 1 and 2:
We will experience ways in which we are informed by a world where we try to improve and perfect ourselves to be worthy to belong and how we come to believe that we have to give to others and the world and not to have any needs ourselves to increase our internal sense of value earning the connection with others. We have lost contact with ourselves as we are purely and perfectly human and with a heart of gold.
Introduction to the First Shockpoint at Point 3
The First Shock point is a mechanical shock point inserted by the environment and the people in it. This shock is not necessarily reconciled easily.
It is dependent on your readiness and the capacity acquired in your life which helps you recognise how and where to place you attention consciously and resource the profound sense of disorientation around not recognizing who you are, what your place is in the world with others, the deep pain of disapproval, rejection, and abandonment by others, and your belief that you will not survive it.
Your normal defensive and adaptive strategies cannot relate to and manage the overwhelming charge that comes with such force. Inner work is needed to be able to metabolize this charge so you can experience the full reconciliation of the perceived failure to accomplish the desired image people outside of you are requesting from you.
This shockpoint will turn up when you least expect it and invite you to turn to the deepest grief at the loss of connection and resource yourself there. You will then experience your true self instead of being in service of the other’s desired image of you that will win you the connection.
How do you approach your type so you can deconstruct the successful and the failure duality, which creates an either/or, true or false view of yourself? What image is the one that is truly yours instead of the image of someone else?

“What pain, contraction, dissociation, or unmet grief do you encounter in your heart?”
“What survival strategies, defensive patterns, adaptive ways prohibit you from fully accessing your avoidance or prevent you from reaching for resources to arrest the automatic patterns?”

“How do you locate the objective reality of your type by using the “Inner Observer” faculty of mind?”
Inward turn obstacles: First, Second and Third Level of Inner Observer
Invitation to discern and recognize your automatic, “habit of attention” next to “conscious placement of attention”.
Neurobiology: What does the automatic placement of attention serve, and when do we notice its presence? What does the shift to conscious attention allow us to experience?
How are any kind of overwhelming sensations, not necessarily about trauma as such, you’re carrying managed by your type? What gets sacrificed?
How do you approach your type so you can deconstruct the right and wrong duality, which creates an either/or, “black or white” view? And secondly, “giving or receiving” state of your heart?

What was your experience of pausing at point 9 and reconcile the split between “peace and conflict.”
“What was your experience within your type to reconcile the idealized version of perfection, giving to the people and the world around you and aligning with the desired image of success of others based on the need to increase your value?”
“What are the questions that you have about how and when your developmental stage formed via your type’s pattern and when? Do you have an example?”
“What's arising for you as a felt experience of what is driving the automatic versus the open, receptive, free choice to place attention consciously on these points?”
Your Essence energetic qualities are always present inside of yourself. They have simply become obscured and hidden behind the conditioned, adaptive strategies of your core type. When you enter the circle, you begin to receive the wisdom of the clockwise movement as the way we renew and deconstruct your identification with your type.
